[ About the Project ]

2020 was a year of turmoil, and the few years following were no less challenging for my wife and I. We navigated multiple jobs, health issues, the passing of beloved family members, and a relentless wave of bad luck. This was a time of reflection for me and I learned that my creativity was a place where I could mentally decompress and find peace. Time seemingly disappeared. My wife, my rock, guided me through one of the most difficult periods of my life and I wanted to use this as an opportunity to memorialize a transformation.

This project is close to my heart. It symbolizes the strength and unity of my relationship with my wife, that many organically were already referring to as "Team Picard." Inspired by family crests and the deep meanings behind them, I created a logomark that embodies our resilience and commitment.

Our shared passion for fitness, well-being, progress, and dedication to each other inspired me to make this logomark more than just a dead-end design. It had to be a tangible reminder of our bond. I wasn’t sure what that was going to be but some sketches transformed into an LED sign that lights up our bedroom each night. Sure, thats cool, but what mattered most was that it became a catalyst for co-creation with my wife.

During the construction, I documented the entire process, turning it into a video featured at a local creators event. Each year, for our anniversary, my wife and I make our own apparel representing another year of our commitment to one another. The act of creating together is something I hold dear.

This project is a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming adversity and the meaningful connections symbols can forge.
